Enhancing Teacher Development!
Professional Learning Plan Outline for E-Portfolios Integration

Empowering Educators Through Purposeful E-Portfolio Integration

The goal of this professional learning plan is to support teachers in effectively implementing e-portfolios by providing hands-on experiences, ongoing support, collaborative opportunities, and modeled examples. Through this intentional design, teachers will gain the confidence, skills, and inspiration needed to integrate e-portfolios into their instruction in meaningful and sustainable ways.
Incorporating the 5 Key Principles of Effective PD
Ongoing Duration and Support
The professional learning for teachers will be structured across multiple sessions over the course of the school year. It will include periodic check-ins, workshops, and collaborative planning time to ensure ongoing support as teachers implement e-portfolios in their classrooms. This approach will allow time for teachers to experiment, reflect, and improve their practice.
Support During Implementation:
Teachers will receive targeted support through coaching, feedback loops, and peer collaboration groups. Specific challenges—such as navigating technology or adapting content for different student needs—will be addressed in these support sessions, ensuring teachers feel confident and prepared (Bratcher, 2023)
Active Engagement in Learning:
Initial sessions will be interactive, including hands-on practice with e-portfolios, guided discussions, and reflection exercises. Teachers will actively create their own e-portfolios during the learning sessions, enabling them to experience the process firsthand (Bratcher, 2023).
Modeling Best Practices:
Throughout the PD, leaders will model the use of e-portfolios, showcasing how they can be used to reflect on practice, track progress, and share successes. Peer-led presentations and real-life examples from teachers will demonstrate the benefits and impact of e-portfolios.
Discipline-Specific Content:
The content will be tailored for high school teachers, with a focus on using e-portfolios in specific subject areas. Teachers will learn how to integrate e-portfolios with their subject matter, ensuring that the technology enhances content delivery and student engagement.
BHAG: To design professional learning that equips and empowers teachers to confidently implement and integrate e-portfolios into their classrooms through hands-on experiences, sustained support, collaboration, and modeled best practices.
