About Me:

My name is Karimi Najera Garcia, and I’m originally from Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I moved to the United States at the age of 15 and have proudly called Texas my home ever since.

I’ve been married for 17 years and am the proud parent of two wonderful children. My professional journey in education began in the classroom, where I first served as a behavior specialist teacher. I later transitioned into leadership roles, including CTC/504 Coordinator at DISD, where I gained valuable experience supporting both students and staff through compliance, testing, and accommodation processes.

Currently, I serve as the Dyslexia Interventionist at Crosby High School for the 2024–2025 school year. I was recently honored with the opportunity to transition into a new role as the 504/ESL Coordinator for the 2025–2026 school year, also at Crosby High. Working at the high school level has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m genuinely excited about the relationships I’m building with students during such a pivotal time in their academic and personal growth.

In terms of education, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business from Lamar University in 2019. Now, I’m returning to Lamar to pursue a Master’s degree in Digital Learning, with the goal of expanding my impact in the education field and staying at the forefront of innovation in teaching and learning.

Every role I've held has deepened my belief that education can—and should—be dynamic, inclusive, and empowering for every student and educator.
