Compilation & Contributions to my Learning

When I started this course, my goal was clear: to learn how to become a better technology leader. I came in excited and looking forward to growing, both personally and professionally, and I was hoping to walk away with new tools, strategies, and confidence to lead effectively in a technology-driven educational environment. I’m happy to say that this course not only met those expectations but gave me even more than I anticipated.

Over the eight weeks, the course was thoughtfully structured, with clear communication and expectations from Dr. Glenn. Each week was broken down in a manageable way, which allowed me to focus on one assignment at a time without feeling overwhelmed. I liked how accessible Dr. Glenn was, directions were always clear, and support was just an email and a phone call away if needed. This structure helped me stay on track and made the learning experience smooth and enjoyable.

One of the biggest successes for me was how the course was organized. Having weekly assignments rather than everything piling up all at once helped me manage my time and prioritize my workload. I also liked how the assignments built on each other, making it easier to connect what we were learning week to week. The projects and discussions were designed to help us grow and really pushed me to think like a technology leader. I especially liked how practical the assignments were, they weren’t just busy work, but meaningful tasks I could see myself using in real-world scenarios.

With that being said, there’s always room to grow. For me, I see an opportunity to become a stronger leader, someone who not only understands the technology but also knows how to motivate, guide, and support others in implementing it. I think I can also improve by engaging more actively in discussions and taking initiative when working in groups. As for the course itself, while the structure was great, I think offering a little more variety in the types of assignments, maybe some hands-on or creative options, could make the experience even better. Having more interactive elements, like simulations or role-playing leadership scenarios, might have helped deepen the learning.

Working in collaborative groups was an eye-opening experience. I really enjoyed connecting with others who brought different leadership styles and perspectives to the table. It reminded me that there’s no one "right" way to lead, and that diversity in thought and experience can lead to more thoughtful decisions. However, one challenge I did notice was with deadlines. It was sometimes difficult to rely on others to complete their parts of an assignment on time, which added unnecessary stress. If I could change one thing, I’d suggest having more structured group check-ins or staggered deadlines to help with accountability.

Overall, this course has been an incredibly positive experience. I genuinely feel like I’ve grown as a technology leader, not just in terms of knowledge, but also in confidence. The projects and assignments felt relevant and practical, giving me tools I can apply directly in my school setting. I also appreciated the opportunity to reflect, share ideas, and learn from my peers. All in all, I’m leaving this class with a clearer vision of the kind of leader I want to be, and a solid foundation to build on moving forward. I'm excited to take what I've learned here and bring it into my daily practice as I continue developing as both a leader and a learner.
